So, the City is fixing something underneath the sidewalk on the north side of Bloor at Christie Pits. Instead of sticking up a sign asking pedestrians to use the other side, they’ve paved a new path through the park, around the construction. I was pretty annoyed by this—especially since they haven’t bothered to fix/repave an actual permanent path through the park that’s been busted up all spring/summer. But this morning, they had a big truck parked on top of the temporary path AND a sign telling pedestrians to use the other sidewalk (ridiculous for those not in wheelchairs, who can easily just walk through the park. Why oh why are they screwing with a beautiful park?
